About the Position

A hardware and firmware development company is seeking an Embedded Software Developer to build firmware for microcontrollers in C++. The company provides end-to-end smart-device development, including hardware and firmware, from concept and architecture through validation and mass production. The Embedded Software Developer will develop firmware for microcontrollers using C++, integrate communication protocols, contribute to project planning, develop according to the agreed system architecture, and work closely with hardware teams on bring-up, debugging, and validation. The role involves work on real-time systems close to the hardware and requires continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop firmware for microcontrollers in C++
  • Integrate and validate communication protocols
  • Contribute to project planning
  • Develop according to the agreed system architecture
  • Work closely with the hardware side, including bring-up, debugging, and validation
  • Continuously learn and adopt new technologies

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of hands-on commercial experience in embedded programming with C++; internships and student projects do not qualify
  • Strong engineering fundamentals, with ability to independently reason about, debug, explain code, and solve problems without ready-made answers

Advantages

  • Affinity with hardware and understanding of embedded development from hardware perspective
  • Experience developing on STM and Nordic platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Experience developing products for industrial, retail, space, or defence applications that reached mass production
  • Experience with communication protocols such as RS422, RS485, CAN Bus
  • Experience with microcontrollers including Microchip, Nordic, STM, ESP32
  • Experience with embedded Linux platforms such as Raspberry Pi, i.MX8
  • Familiarity with sensors, motors, processors, and control systems
  • Ability to work with lab equipment
  • Maker mindset
  • Immediate availability is highly preferred

Location & Work Model

  • Four days per week onsite
  • Current office location in Tel Aviv, moving soon to the Rishon LeZion / Rehovot / Yavne area
  • Preference for candidates located in or near Rishon LeZion, Ness Ziona, Rehovot, or Yavne; Petah Tikva and Modi'in are also workable locations
  • Candidates living north of Tel Aviv are not a fit for this role
